There is certainly a lot of twitter advice, but let me say something that works. Treat twitter like a conversation at a party. Too many people just keep posting away and wonder why they are not getting more followers or results. You need to to engage with folks, find out who they are, make friends. If they drop the ball you might have to pick it up again after they say something new that interests you. That’s why they call it social media. I’ve met some really great folks on Twitter and miss them when I get too busy to check in. Building your circle of friends can be fun as well as profitable. Of course you can overdo the trivial stuff. If all you talk about is what you had for breakfast, that is pretty boring. I think the key is to be in conversation. Take an interest in your fellow tweeple. They will likely return that interest and who knows where that will take you. I will say this, it is pretty cool being part of a party where I can talk to over 3000 people and just maybe connect.
